Virginia’s Triennial Review of Water-quality Standards Started in August 2013; Public Meeting to be held Sept. 10 in Glen Allen

The Virginia State Water Control Board and Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) are beginning the Commonwealth’s triennial review of state water-quality standards (section 9 VAC 25-260 in the Virginia Administrative Code).  Virginia’s State Water Control Law, requires the Board to review and update the Commonwealth’s standards at least every three years.  On August 12, 2013, the DEQ published in the Virginia Register of Regulations a Notice of Intended Regulatory Action (NOIRA) on the triennial review.  The public comment period on the NOIRA runs 8/12/13 to 10/11/13.

On September 10, 2013, at 1 p.m., the DEQ will hold a public meeting on the triennial review.  The public meeting will be held at the DEQ’s Piedmont Regional Office, 4949A Cox Road in Glen Allen.  Click on the meeting date above to access more information about the meeting, from the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall Web site.
