Examining a Sports Metaphor for Climate Change, in the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium’s Coastal Heritage Magazine

On October 31, one day after the conclusion of the 2013 Major League Baseball World Series, baseball fans and weather/climate watchers might enjoy “Steroids and carbon dioxide—the wisdom of metaphor,” in the Spring/Summer 2013 issue of Coastal Heritage, from the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium.  This one-page article looks at the value of an expression connected to an unfortunate part of professional baseball history–“being on steroids”—as a metaphor for the impacts of climate change on extreme weather events.  The article is available online at http://www.scseagrant.org/Content/?cid=668.
