On October 20, 2016, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s office announced the completion of the 2016 update of the Virginia Energy Plan. The plan, intended as a comprehensive, strategic vision for energy production and use in Virginia, was first developed in 2010 and was then revised in 2014. The new document, titled “Energy in the New Virginia Economy,” is intended to summarize developments and results since the 2014 plan was published in October of that year.
